Approximately 10,000 Oncor and TVEC customers without power in portions of Kaufman County

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Approximately 10,000 Oncor and Trinity Valley Electric Co-op (TVEC) customers are without power Tuesday afternoon due to an equipment failure.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Approximately 10,000 Oncor and Trinity Valley Electric Co-op (TVEC) customers are without power Tuesday afternoon due to an equipment failure.

The failure was located at an Oncor substation on County Road 269 just north of Crandall.

TVEC is reporting approximately 7,860 customers are without power and Oncor is reporting approximately 1,700 are without power.

At 4:55 p.m., TVEC reported thier transmission lines had been re-energized and members should begin to see power restoration as circuits are re-energized.

Oncor representatives at the substation say it will be several hours before their customers power is restored.

The outage impacted several areas including south Forney, Crandall, Heartland, Kaufman, and Terrell.

Nearby residents reported a loud explosion sound at the onset of the power outage which prompted a response by the Crandall Fire Department.
