POST OAK BEND, Texas — Several area fire departments are extinguishing a Post Oak Bend-area house fire on Saturday morning.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., the Kaufman Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the garage of a single-story, brick home in the 1000 block of Timber Creek Circle just outside the city limits of Post Oak Bend.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire from the home and firefighters were forced to fight the fire defensively after the roof collapsed.
The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Scurry Volunteer Fire Department, College Mound Volunteer Fire Department, and the Crandall Fire Department responded to the fire as mutual aid.
As of 10 a.m., firefighters were still in post-fire overhaul tackling hot spots.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
