FORNEY, Texas — Several area fire departments are fighting a large grass fire north of Forney.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., the grass fire was reported in the area of Mann Road, just west of Farm-to-Market (FM) 548, north of Forney on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
The Forney Fire Department was toned out to the fire with mutual aid requested from several area fire departments including the Heath Fire Department, McClendon Chisholm Fire Department, Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, and the Rockwall Fire Department.
The fire was contained early Wednesday evening with firefighters conducting mop up and clearing the scene.
