COMBINE, Texas — Several area fire departments will be participating in a mass-casualty training event this Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Combine Fire Department, which is hosting the event, posted notice Thursday evening to alert residents of the training as to not cause alarm.

The training will be held at the Point View Baptist Church and will focus on a mass casualty event due to a building collapse, from either weather events or explosives.

"This will be a multi-department event including departments from Dallas County (sponsor), Cockrell Hill, Crandall, Able Springs, Kemp, and others from Kaufman County along with CareFlite (ground and air)," stated the department.

"Please help us to spread the word that this is a drill only and to be mindful of the personnel at the intersection of FM 1389 and FM 3039," read the statement.
