SUNNYVALE, Texas — An armored truck overturned on U.S. Highway 80 on Monday afternoon in between Forney and Sunnyvale.
The crash was reported just before 3:45 p.m. on westbound U.S. Highway 80 just west of East Fork Road — approximately half a mile from the Dallas-Kaufman County line. The armored truck, which belongs to Garda World, overturned and came to a rest on its wheels on the highway’s shoulder.
Its unknown at this time what caused the crash. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. The crash occurred while severe thunderstorms were passing over the region.
No injuries were reported. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Sunnyvale Fire Department and EMS responded to the crash.
The westbound U.S. Highway 80 onramp at East Fork Road was closed during the incident. No major traffic delays were observed.
