KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A nationwide AT&T 911 outage is affecting Kaufman County and emergency personnel are advising AT&T customers to call the non-emergency numbers in their respective areas.
Kaufman County Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie says the outage began affecting the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area and has migrated into the surrounding counties.
AT&T customers should call the non-emergency numbers until services are back online, Howie told inForney.com. The Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the outage and will send notification when it is resolved, he said.
Its unknown if the outage is affecting other phone providers, Howie said.
T-mobile was reporting 911 disruptions in Dallas County which is reportedly unrelated to the AT&T outage.
“We are aware of a service issue affecting some calls to 911 for wireless customers and we’re working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience," read an AT&T statement to the media.
