CANTON, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is scheduled to temporarily close the Canton Driver License Office at 5 p.m. on February 2, 2017, for renovations.
The office, located at 1601 North Trade Days Blvd in Canton, is expected to reopen to the public in late February, according to DPS spokesperson Sgt. Kyle Bradford.
“The revamped Canton office will feature upgrades, including improved customer flow designed to enhance efficiency and customer service,” stated Bradford.
During the renovation period, DPS is encouraging customers in the area to visit the Terrell Driver License Office at 111 Tejas Drive, Terrell, TX 75160.
Additionally, many Texans are eligible to utilize online services for driver license and ID card renewals, duplicates, and address changes at www.Texas.gov. Renewals are also available by phone at 1 (866) 367-3639.
“The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same,” according to Bradford. “The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals.”
