KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — CareFlite ground ambulatory services will go live county-wide on March 1, 2015, after county and city officials accepted their respective contracts in response to East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) announcing they would withdraw from the county.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — CareFlite ground ambulatory services will go live county-wide on March 1, 2015, after county and city officials accepted their respective contracts in response to East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) announcing they would withdraw from the county.
ETMC made their withdrawal announcement to Kaufman County and local municipalities on January 28, 2015, just days after announcing they would also withdraw from Ellis County citing a change in Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance funding.

In an emergency meeting, the Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court approved their contract, which includes the city of Forney, with CareFlite early Friday morning, February 27, 2015. The city of Kaufman approved their contract with CareFlite on Thursday night during a City Council meeting and the city of Terrell also did so earlier this month.
In each agreement, CareFlite is set to go live on March 1, 2015, at 7 a.m.
