KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — There is a chance of severe weather Friday evening and overnight for north and central Texas, including Kaufman County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — There is a chance of severe weather Friday evening and overnight for north and central Texas, including Kaufman County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.
“Thunderstorms are forecast today as a cold front slides southward through North and Central Texas,” stated the NWS.
The best chance for severe weather will likely be along the Red River and will move southward as the day progresses. Timing for Kaufman County is expected between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. and will continue overnight.
“During the mid to late afternoon hours, thunderstorms will likely increase in areal coverage with mainly a large hail and damaging wind risk,” stated the NWS. “A tornado cannot be ruled out, but this potential is low.”
“The tornado risk will diminish with storms congealing into a line,” stated the NWS. “Severe weather chances should diminish rather quickly after midnight, but there will be chances for a few strong storms down into Central TX.”
