FORNEY, Texas — The City of Forney will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new 5,500-square foot animal shelter on October 7, 2017.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Forney Animal Shelter and Adoption Center located at 201 Holly Leaf Trail. Tours will be conducted after the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Crews from Speed Fab-Crete broke ground on the animal shelter in July 2016.

The shelter will feature approximately two dozen dog kennels and two cat rooms — one for domestic cats and the other for feral cats — and an adoption center.

For adoption information, visit the City of Forney's Adoption Page, here. Additionally, follow the Friends of the Forney Animal Shelter Facebook Page, a non-profit organization, which promotes programs and animal adoption events for the shelter.
