KAUFMAN, Texas — The City of Kaufman is set to break ground on their new municipal building at the end of the month.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the site of the new municipal building at 209 South Washington Street.
In 2016, voters approved a $6.63 million bond for the construction of a new joint facility for the City of Kaufman, City Hall, and the Kaufman Police Department.
The municipal complex will be built on the site of the former city hall and police department building which was demolished earlier this year. The city’s footprint will expand from the block of Washington Street, East Cherry Street, and East Chestnut Street south to East South Street.
The Kaufman City Council approved the preliminary concept design in July 2016.
