If you've been to the U.S. Post Office in Forney, you were likely greeted by Moe's contagious, beaming smile — one that won't soon be forgotten.
37-year-old Mawonn "Moe" Demetrius Smith was on his way to work early Wednesday morning when his SUV overturned on Interstate Highway 30 at St. Francis Avenue in Dallas. According to Dallas County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Raul Reyna, Smith was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A banner now hangs on the front of the Forney Post Office that reads, "Moe, you will be missed..." Residents are asked to leave a note on the banner, in remembrance of Smith.
Friends, family members, residents, and customers remember Smith as caring, kind, and friendly.
