FORNEY, Texas — Construction is causing major delays on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 near Forney on Friday afternoon.
Crews working just west of the East Fork Trinity River, near the Dallas-Kaufman County line, have the right lane of the highway closed, forcing traffic down to one lane. As of 1:30 p.m., traffic is backed up to South Collins Road in Sunnyvale.
Traffic is additionally delayed in Forney on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 at Pinson Road where the left lane is expected to be closed until 3:30 p.m. on Friday for overpass repairs. Both lanes of eastbound U.S. Highway 80 will be closed at Pinson Road at 7 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Saturday.
The eastbound U.S. Highway 80 entrance ramp at Pinson Road is also expected to remain closed for three weeks while crews continue repairs to the overpass.
