FORNEY, Texas — County Road 221 was closed at University Drive for approximately an hour after a pickup truck struck a utility pole and downed cables and debris across the road.
The crash was reported at approximately 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 221 and University Drive.
The truck was traveling westbound when, for unknown reasons, veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole on the east side of County Road 221. The truck traveled across County Road 221 and drug with it the utility pole and several attached cables, as well as other debris.
The driver of the truck was transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
As of 3:30 p.m., an Oncor Emergency Unit has begun clearing the roadway while Farmers Electric Cooperative crews are en route to assess any further damage to an adjacent utility pole.
No power outages have been reported as a result of the crash.
