FORNEY, Texas — A damaged sprinkler head triggered an alarm and evacuation at Forney High School on Thursday afternoon.
Staff and students have since been cleared to re-enter the building as district officials begin assessing any potential water damage, district spokesperson Larry Coker told inForney.com.
Two hallways were flooded, according to a statement from the district.
Bus riders will remain in the gym and auditorium until dismissal time, according to the district. Parents are also welcome to pick up their students from the front office.
The Forney Fire Department responded to the campus at approximately 1:20 p.m. after receiving a water flow alarm signal.
