TERRELL, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on State Highway (SH) 205 north of Terrell which occurred Sunday night.
TERRELL, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on State Highway (SH) 205 north of Terrell which occurred Sunday night.
Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Lieutenant Lonny Haschel says troopers responded to the crash scene on SH 205, approximately two miles north of Terrell, at approximately 7:57 p.m.
"Preliminary investigation indicates a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by a 17 year old from Terrell, was traveling south on SH 205," stated Haschel. "For an as yet undetermined reason, a 41-year-old male was walking in the middle of the roadway. The pedestrian was struck by the pickup and killed."
"The driver of the pickup stopped and was uninjured," stated Haschel.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash. A DPS helicopter aided in aerial photography of the crash scene.
The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, CareFlite, and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released.
