FORNEY, Texas — Eastbound U.S. Highway 80 has reopened following a major two-vehicle rollover crash at Dallas-Kaufman County line.
The crash was reported just after midnight on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 near Lawson Road and the Dallas-Kaufman County line.
Early reports indicate a vehicle may have been traveling northbound on Lawson Road when it launched onto the highway where it was t-boned by an SUV traveling eastbound on the highway. The SUV overturned and came to a rest in the middle of the highway and the vehicle continued into the center median.
A CareFlite medical helicopter transported one person to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and Sunnyvale EMS transported another person by ambulance to a Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas.
Traffic was diverted onto the south service road at the Lawson Road exit.
The Forney Fire Department, Sunnyvale Fire Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety has responded to the scene. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
