ELMO, Texas — An Elmo-area home was destroyed on Saturday morning which saw a firefighter response from several Kaufman County fire departments.
Elmo Volunteer Fire Department Chief Randy Brumbelow tells inForney.com no one was home when the fire was first reported at approximately 10:09 a.m. on Saturday at a residence in the 14000 block of Farm-to-Market (FM) 2728 near Emerald Lane in the Elmo area.
The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, College Mound Volunteer Fire Department, Ables Springs Volunteer Fire Department, and the Kaufman Fire Department responded as mutual aid to the Elmo Volunteer Fire Department.
Brumbelow says the fire possibly started in the area of the fireplace. At least two occupants were displaced as a result of the fire, he said.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
