TERRELL, Texas — Firefighters extinguished a detached structure fire on Monday in Terrell.
At approximately 11 a.m., the Terrell Fire Department was dispatched to the fire in the 800 block of West State Street in Terrell. Mutual aid was requested from the Forney Fire Department and the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire from a detached structure behind a residence in the 800 block of West State Street.
Terrell Fire Department Captain Tom Cooper says the homeowner called 911 after he was alerted to the fire by his barking dog.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but Cooper tells inForney.com there aren’t any suspicious circumstances.
A portion of West State Street was closed while fire personnel were on scene.
