FORNEY, Texas — Firefighters extricated two people from a rollover crash on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 on Thursday afternoon which has prompted the closure of the highway.
The crash was reported at approximately 1 p.m. on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 just west of the Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 exit.
The SUV was traveling eastbound on the highway when, for yet to be determined reasons, left the roadway and overturned in the median between the highway and the south service road — which caused the two people in the vehicle to become entrapped.
Firefighters cut and peeled the roof back to extricate the two people. Both were transported to LakePointe Medical Center in Forney, Texas, in unknown condition.
All eastbound U.S. Highway 80 traffic is being diverted off the highway at Pinson Road and onto the south service road.
