FORNEY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southwestern Kaufman County until 12:30 a.m. and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was allowed to continue until 11 p.m.
FORNEY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southwestern Kaufman County until 12:30 a.m. and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was allowed to continue until 11 p.m.
At 9:32 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rains across the warned area,” the NWS stated. “Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.”
“This rainfall will lead to excessive water runoff and cause flash flooding,” the NWS stated. “Low-lying areas are most vulnerable to rapidly rising water. Some low-water crossings may flood and become impassable.”
Areas in Combine, Ferris, and Rosser may experience flooding, according to the NWS.
Wind speeds up to 60 miles per hour and tennis ball size hail is likely to occur with the current storm cell, according to Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie.
