KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Flash Flood Watch has been extended for Kaufman County through Sunday morning due to the potential for additional heavy rain overnight.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Flash Flood Watch has been extended for Kaufman County through Sunday morning due to the potential for additional heavy rain overnight.

Portions of the Trinity River are also under a Flood Warning in southern Kaufman County.

Between one and three inches of additional rainfall is possible with these overnight storms with locally higher amounts expected.

The Flood Warning for the Trinity River in Rosser will remain in effect until Tuesday morning or until the warning is canceled, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 9:30 a.m., the Trinity River's stage was at 13.48 feet and is expected to rise above the 331-foot flood stage y Saturday evening and crest near 36 feet by Sunday afternoon. The river should fall back below flood stage by Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

"At 36 feet, Moderate flooding is expected within the levees," stated the NWS.
