KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — UPDATE [Feb. 23] — The National Weather Service (NWS) has continued the Flood Warning for the Trinity River in the Rosser-area through Monday night.
At 7:30 a.m., on Friday, the river's stage was at 33.47 feet. Flood stage is 31 feet.
The river is expected to continue rising to a crest near 34 feet by Saturday after midnight, according to the NWS. The river should fall below flood stage Monday morning.
ORIGINAL [Feb. 21] — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flood Warning for the Trinity River near Rosser, Texas, in Kaufman and Ellis Counties.
The Flood Warning will be in effect from Thursday afternoon until Friday evening, or until the warning is canceled.
At 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday, the Trinity River stage measured 23.38 feet.
Flood stage is 31 feet and is expected to rise above flood stage by Thursday afternoon and continue to rise to a crest near 32 feet by Friday after midnight, according to the NWS.
The river should fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
"At 31 feet, minor flooding of farm and ranch land is expected near the river," stated the NWS. "A few rural roads will be inundated."
Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
