FORNEY, Texas — The railroad crossing at Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 in Forney is closed after a train collided with a vehicle.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on the south side of the railroad crossing near Broad Street.
The crossing at FM 548 is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time and traffic is being diverted in the area. Motorists should expect major delays.
Union Pacific Railroad police are en route to the scene. The Forney Police Department, Forney Fire Department, and CareFlite responded.
The collision was "low impact," Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend told inForney.com.
Injuries, if any, are expected to be minor.
Downtown Forney railroad crossings remain open as well as the Gateway Boulevard overpass.
