FORNEY, Texas — The cities of Forney and Terrell recently welcomed new police officers following their graduations from the North Central Texas Council of Governments Regional Police Academy.
Pedro Moreno and Israel Elias both graduated from the Regional Police Academy during a graduation ceremony held on Friday, September 29, 2017, in Grand Prairie.
Moreno became the first recruit to be hired by the Forney Police Department and sent to the police academy. Moreno opened the gradation ceremony by signing the National Anthem. He was sworn in on Monday by Forney Municipal Court Judge Mega Spain and had his badge pinned on him by his father, Evaristo Moreno.
A badge pinning ceremony was held for Elias at the Terrell Police Department’s Rosenbam room on Friday in which Terrell Police Department Administrative Secretary to the Chief of Police Cindy Hunter administered the Elias’ oath of office.
