“The lives of our cats are at stake, and they need heroes like you,” said the shelter on Facebook. The statement continued, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, our shelter is bursting at the seams with cats who are desperately seeking loving homes.”
It’s not only cats that need adopting, the shelter also has dogs that need homes. The Forney Animal Shelter charges $75 for adoptions, which include spaying or neutering, rabies vaccination, and any surgery required. There is an application process that all wishing to adopt must go through.
In an effort to convey the urgency of the situation, the statement expressed that adoption is a matter of survival for our furry friends.
“If you’ve ever considered bringing a furry friend into your home, now is the time. Even a temporary foster home can make a world of difference,” read the statement.
“Time is of the essence, and every share, adoption, and foster commitment can be a lifeline for a cat in need.”
