FORNEY, Texas — The Forney City Council, just before midnight and following a two-hour closed-door executive session, authorized the termination of the city manager’s contract.
City Manager James Fisher’s performance came under review during a standard one-year review in executive session.
Mayor Pro-Tem Mary Penn motioned to authorize City Attorney Jon Thatcher to begin drawing a separation agreement to terminate Fisher’s contract. The motion was seconded by Council member Shaun Myers.
Council members Robbie Powers and Kevin Moon also voted in favor of the termination. Council members Cory McGee, David Johnson, and Mayor Rick Wilson voted against the termination.
Fisher’s contract includes a severance package, although unknown at this time.
