FORNEY, Texas — The Forney City Council began the city manager and city attorney selection process on Tuesday night.

After a brief agenda, the Forney City Council moved into executive session to narrow down the applicant field for city manager and city attorney, according to Interim City Manager Charles Daniels.

Daniels says 65 people applied for the city manager position and 19 people applied for the city attorney position.

The council members will narrow the applicant field to a manageable number and will request video submissions from each of the applicants, according to Daniels. Finalists will then be selected for interviews and announced before a lone finalist is selected.
