The Forney Community Band is inviting experienced musicians to join its 2025 summer season, offering a unique opportunity to perform, connect with fellow artists, and celebrate the spirit of community through music.Â
Open to all instrumentalists with prior playing experience, the band will rehearse weekly at Forney High School. Participants will prepare a lively program featuring modern concert pieces and patriotic classics, culminating in a special performance at the Spellman Amphitheater in July. The annual concert under the stars is a favorite local tradition, drawing families and friends together for an evening of music and celebration.Â
The Forney Community Band welcomes players of all instruments—from flute to trumpet to percussion—and encourages musicians of all ages and backgrounds to take part. No auditions are required, but participants should have a working knowledge of their instrument and a passion for performing.Â
Founded in 2014 through a collaboration between Forney ISD Director of Fine Arts Mario Luna and Forney Arts Council Music Director Christi Conaway, the Forney Community Band was created to promote music education, foster community pride, and provide a welcoming space for local musicians to showcase their talents.
