FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department was awarded the 2016 EMS First Responder Award by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) on Tuesday.
FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department was awarded the 2016 EMS First Responder Award by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) on Tuesday.
The awarded was presented to the Forney Fire Department at the annual Texas Emergency Medical Services Conference on November 22, 2016.
“First Responder Award honors a first responder organization that demonstrated leadership in EMS in patient care, public access, medical control, disaster preparedness, public education or training,” according to the DSHS’ website.
“It was very humbling to receive this award,” Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend told inForney.com. “The members of the Forney Fire Department will continue to do the best job they can for the citizens and visitors of our community.”
“We are extremely proud of the Forney Fire Department and hope our residents feel comfort knowing that they are in good hands when emergencies happen,” a statement from the City of Forney read.
