ALLEN, Texas — The lights will be brighter, the stakes higher, and the pressure heavier when two of Texas’ hottest soccer programs meet in the UIL 6A State Semi-Final this Friday, April 4th at 2:00 PM, at Allen Eagle Stadium. The Forney Jackrabbits and Marcus Marauders will collide with a trip to the state championship on the line.

Both teams enter the semifinal red-hot and unshaken. Marcus has won six straight, including a high-stakes thriller on Tuesday night. After a scoreless regulation against Prosper, the Marauders showed nerves of steel in the shootout, converting three penalties to Prosper’s two to punch their ticket to Allen.

Forney, meanwhile, is riding a wave of dominance. Their 3-0 victory over Wylie East on Tuesday marked their 22nd consecutive win, pushing their season record to 23-1. It was also a statement win, given the Jackrabbits had gone 0-6-1 against Wylie East in their previous seven meetings. But this isn’t the same Forney team — not by a long shot.

They overwhelmed Wylie with a balanced, three-pronged attack, getting goals from Brooklynn SosaAddison E. Smith, and Devyn Gee. Forney’s depth and versatility have been unmatched all season — they’ve now won 16 games by three goals or more, and their defense has posted 11 shutouts in their last 12 matches.

Marcus (17-4-3) isn’t just along for the ride, though. The Marauders have battled through a rugged playoff path and bring experience and resilience to the pitch. And they hold bragging rights from the last time these two teams met, back in January 2021 — a 5-1 win over Forney.

But this is a different time, a different team, and a much bigger stage.

The State Semi-Final will test everything — depth, nerves, and will. Two programs with firepower and history. One chance to play for a title.

Kickoff is Friday at 2:00 PM at Allen Eagle Stadium. Don’t miss it.
