FORNEY, Texas β The Forney Food Pantry is seeking donations for children's snack backpacks βan effort in coordination with area schools to provide children with nutritious and enjoyable snacks.
The pantry is reaching out to the community for assistance due to a number of their standard backpack fillers either being out of stock or low on inventory at the pantry.
"Any donation, big or small, can make a difference in the lives of those struggling with food insecurity," read a statement from the Forney Food Pantry. "Your continued support will help us provide nourishment and warmth to families in need during these challenging times."Β
"As the holiday season continues, our community has demonstrated incredible generosity in supporting our local food pantry," stated the pantry. "Your past contributions have made a significant impact, and we are truly grateful."
"However, the demand at our food pantry has grown, and we find ourselves in need of additional support to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry," continued the statement. "With your history of generosity, we are reaching out to kindly request a little more assistance."
Items needed for school-children backpacks include pop tarts, granola bars, individually packaged cereal, fruit snacks, and individually or personal crackers. The pantry also needs Mac n Cheese, peanut butter, and jelly for at-home options for the children.
Donations can be delivered to the Forney Food Pantry at 222 Industrial Drive in Forney, Texas. Or, the pantry may be able to arrange a pickup by calling (972) 552-2211.
