FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is accepting applications through Friday, February 3, 2017, for their 2017 Citizens Police Academy — a 12-week course offering a unique insight into the department.
FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is accepting applications through Friday, February 3, 2017, for their 2017 Citizens Police Academy — a 12-week course offering a unique insight into the department.
The academy, which is free for applicants, will be held on Tuesday nights beginning at the end of February.
The Forney Police Department, on their website, states the academy will offer “unique, hands-on experience of law enforcement practices such as recruitment, training, narcotics, firearms and the School Resource Officer.”
“The academy will also provide the opportunity for residents to learn about crime scene analysis in addition to the Patrol, Crime Investigation and Traffic divisions,” stated the department. “The academy will serve as an educational experience and give residents an opportunity to build relationships with those who protect and serve the community.”
