Four injured in major head-on collision on U.S. Highway 80

TERRELL, Texas — Four people were injured in a major, head-on collision on U.S. Highway 80 in Terrell on Friday afternoon.

TERRELL, Texas — Four people were injured in a major, head-on collision on U.S. Highway 80 in Terrell on Friday afternoon.

At approximately, the Terrell Police Department, fire department, and CareFlite responded to U.S. Highway 80 near Farm-to-Market (FM) 1392 for a head-on collision.

According to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom, a 2005 Saturn Ion crossed over the center median, for yet to be determined reasons, and collided head-on with a 2018 Toyota Avalon.

The driver of the Saturn Ion, a female of Dallas, was flown by CareFlite helicopter to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. A male passenger in the Saturn Ion, of Terrell, was transported by ground ambulance to Parkland and a male child was transported to Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

The driver of the Toyota Avalon was transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

The conditions of each of the patients is unknown.

Both east and westbound U.S. Highway 80 were closed while CareFlite landed on the highway. Westbound remained closed for additional time while police investigated the crash.
