FORT WORTH, Texas – The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a freeze warning for Kaufman county and generally along and north of the I-20 corridor for early Saturday morning.

With winds forecasted to subside tonight, and with clear skies and dry air in place, temperatures will fall below freezing in areas along and north of the I-20 corridor. In some locations, multiple hours of sub-freezing conditions may bring an end to fall growing season.

Patchy frost will also be possible in and near the warned area.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 3 AM to 9 AM CST Saturday.

Temperatures will fall to between 30 and 32 degrees by sunrise Saturday. Temperatures will rise above 32 degrees by mid-morning Saturday.

Meteorologists warn sensitive outdoor plants will be susceptible to the freezing conditions and should be brought indoors or protected. Pets and livestock should be brought in or protected from the cold. If sprinklers are left on, freezing of water on sidewalks and roads will likely occur.

Saturday’s forecast is Mostly sunny, with a high near 53. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming east southeast in the afternoon. Saturday Night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
