FORNEY, Texas — Friends and family identified a Kaufman man who was killed in a crash in Forney on Sunday night.
The man, identified by friends and family as 34-year-old Samuel Heath Huddleston, of Kaufman, Texas, was struck by a vehicle on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 following a separate vehicular crash he was involved in on westbound U.S. Highway 80.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night, witnesses say they saw a man run from a two-vehicle crash on westbound U.S. Highway 80 and get struck by a vehicle on eastbound U.S. Highway 80. The two incidents forced the closure of eastbound U.S. Highway 80 and partial closure of westbound U.S. Highway 80 for several hours.
Additional details surrounding the crash have not yet been released and accident investigators are continuing to investigate the fatal crash, according to Forney Police Department spokesperson Detective Michael Clay.
Huddleston was pronounced deceased at the scene by Kaufman County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Johnny Adams.
Funeral services for Huddleston are planned for Thursday, June 2, 2016.
Huddleston was a resident of Kaufman, Texas, at the time of the crash, according to his obituary. He was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Seagoville and Mesquite where he graduated Mesquite High School in 1999.
