Genesis Center in Kaufman Seeks Community Support Amid Growing Needs

KAUFMAN, Texas — The Genesis Center North Texas, a vital refuge for women and children escaping domestic violence, is calling on the community for help as it continues to meet the rising demand for essential household items and prepares for a major kitchen remodel.

Executive Director Amanda Lewis emphasized the immense daily needs of the center due to the number of residents they serve.

“The household needs are always a constant at Genesis Center North Texas. Take your current household supplies and multiply by 20! We have a lot of women and children residing at the Center. The Amazon Wish List (www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1B4YB9CLESU26) is a great way to circulate what we currently need. More recently we added Paper Products to the list. With the kitchen remodel right around the corner, Genesis Center will be relocating the entire dining schedule to a separate building. This building, however, does not have the capability to wash all those dishes — hence the shift to paper! Any donation, whether big or small, is greatly appreciated.”
