Captain Les Edwards, a nearly 18-veteran of the Kaufman Police Department, is now recovering at an area hospital following a successful surgery, according to the GoFundMe account which aims to raise money to support the Edwards family with medical expenses.

“He has given more than anyone will ever know to the citizens of Kaufman,” the Kaufman Police Department stated on Facebook. “Some blood, a lot of sweat, and many tears.”
