KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Heat Advisory for 46 North Texas counties, including Kaufman County, on Wednesday.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Heat Advisory for 46 North Texas counties, including Kaufman County, on Wednesday.
The Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016.
“High temperatures will reach the middle and upper 90s with afternoon Heat Index values around 105,” stated the NWS.
“Heat exhaustion or heat stroke can quickly occur to anyone working or participating in outdoor activities,” stated the NWS. “Be sure to check on persons with health problems and the elderly, as they are the most susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.”
Never leave young children or pets in an enclosed vehicle, even for a short time, as temperatures can quickly rise to life-threatening levels.
Take precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Wear light and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
