HEATH, Texas — A Heath home was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday night which was possibly caused by a lightning strike.
The fire was reported before 7 p.m. in the 800 block of Meadowlark Place as heavy thunderstorms and accompanied lightning were passing over North Texas.
Firefighters from the Heath Department of Public Safety, the Rockwall Fire Department, and the McLendon-Chisholm Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported in the fire, according to the City of Heath.
“Fortunately, the homeowners are safe, but our thoughts and prayers are with them as they recover and rebuild,” stated the City of Heath on Facebook.
“The fire has been reported as a possible lightning strike,” stated the City of Heath.
