The City of Forney is calling on residents to provide input for the development of the Northside Park Master Plan, following the recent adoption of the updated Forney Parks and Trails Master Plan on June 4, 2024. This plan highlights the community's need for increased parkland, open spaces, and trails, with the Northside Park Property identified as a key area for enhancement.
Located north of U.S. Highway 80, the Northside Park Property encompasses approximately 60 acres near the intersection of Reeder Road and the newly expanded Ridgecrest Road. On July 16, 2024, the City Council took a significant step by approving an agreement with Parkhill to create a comprehensive master plan for this area, which may also include a feasibility study for a potential recreation center.
The Parks and Recreation Department is eager to collaborate with Parkhill in this important planning process. However, the success of the master plan relies heavily on community involvement. To ensure that future designs reflect the desires and needs of Forney residents, the City encourages everyone to participate by completing the survey linked below.
