FORNEY, Texas — Information is being sought on an alleged hit-and-run driver who was reportedly involved in a rollover crash last week on U.S. Highway 80 in Forney.
Last Wednesday, at approximately 8:45 a.m., a rollover crash prompted a brief closure of eastbound U.S. Highway 80 near County Road 212.
Patti Hays, who spoke to inForney.com, says she is blessed to be alive.
“I never even saw it coming,” she said. “I just remember the sound of crushing metal and breaking glass.”
Witnesses told police a green box truck collided with Hay’s pickup truck, causing it to overturn. The box truck may have briefly stopped under or near the Gateway Boulevard bridge, but continued driving.
Hays says she is thankful for the people who stopped to render aid, including the first responders, and hopes someone will come forward with information on the green box truck.
Anyone with information on the green box truck, which may have damage to the front right, is encouraged to contact the Forney Police Department at (972) 564-7600 or the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers at (877) 847-7522.
