KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman City Council approved the donation of “In God We Trust” emblems to be placed on police and fire department vehicles at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday night.
With council approval on Monday night, police and fire department personnel began placing the emblems on department vehicles on Tuesday morning.
“Today is a great day for Kaufman!!” the Kaufman Police Department stated on Facebook. “Your city council approved our request to place "In God We Trust" on our police and fire vehicles!”
Kaufman County-area agencies, including Forney, Crandall, and Terrell, approved similar measures last year to place the nation’s motto on their department vehicles and/or city vehicles.
The emblems for the Kaufman Police Department and Kaufman Fire Department were donated by a local business, Fabulous Vinyl Designs.
