KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Kaufman County Clerk’s Office has been awarded the 2016 Five Star Service Award, Kaufman County Clerk Laura Hughes announced.
Of 529 local registrars who were evaluated in the state, 55 were awarded the Five Star Service Award which is granted registrars which meet or exceed criteria set forth by the Texas Department of State Health Services including, among other things, timely registration of birth and death events, met timelines for filing vital county records, accountability and use of the Electronic Registration Systems, and a lengthy self-assessment.
“This marks the 13th year that the office has received this award for outstanding service in Vital Registration,” stated Hughes.
“I am very proud of my staff,” she said. “The amount of work that is necessary to meet the award requirements are substantial and we are very pleased to bring this award back to Kaufman County and the residents.”
Over the last 16 years, the County Clerk’s Office has continually embraced the newest technologies to create an office that is efficient, one that protects and safeguards the records, and one that is focused on providing the best service possible and this award helps highlight that we are on the right track and moving forward, Hughes stated.
