COLLEGE MOUND, Texas — A Kaufman County family was displaced in an overnight fire in the College Mound area.
At 10:49 p.m., the College Mound Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 7600 block of County Road 118. There, firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from a travel trailer, according to the College Mound Fire Department.
Firefighters from Kaufman and Elmo were requested for mutual aid.
"Firefighters were able to get a quick knockdown on the fire however, the trailer and contents were destroyed," stated the department in a release.
A man, woman, and teenager, who were not home at the time of the fire, were displaced. The American Red Cross of Kaufman County responded to the scene and is assisting the family with their immediate needs.
"Early indications are the origin of the fire may be electrical," stated the department. "The Kaufman County Fire Marshal's Office is working to determine the specific cause.
There were no reported injuries in the fire.
