KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what is believed to be an accidental shooting which left a 2-year-old dead on Monday morning.
The incident occurred before 9:15 a.m. in the 9500 block of Timber Trail in Scurry, Texas.
At this time, police are not releasing details on how the shooting occurred citing an active and on-going investigation. Police have, however, stated they believe the shooting to be accidental.
The child, two-and-a-half years old, was transported by ambulance to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas, where he was pronounced deceased.
