Just before 6 a.m., the Forney Fire Department, CareFlite, and Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office responded to Calvert Road, north of Forney, for a woman who reportedly shot herself in the leg while walking her dog.
The woman was transported by CareFlite ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Sunnyvale, Texas, with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
