Kaufman County, Texas – September 30, 2025 – The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a cutting-edge Lenco BearCat G3 armored rescue vehicle, thanks to state funding provided by Senate Bill 22 (SB 22).
State Support for Local Law Enforcement
Passed during the 87th Texas Legislature, SB 22 allocates dedicated funding to bolster sheriffs’ offices across the state. This crucial investment ensures that rural and mid-sized counties like Kaufman County are equipped to maintain public safety and respond effectively to emergencies.
Enhanced Emergency Response Capabilities
The introduction of the BearCat G3 significantly boosts the Sheriff’s Office's ability to handle high-risk incidents, natural disasters, and various emergency situations. This state-of-the-art vehicle is designed to protect both law enforcement personnel and community members alike.
Features Designed for Safety and Efficiency
The BearCat G3 is engineered for tactical response, search and rescue operations, and the secure evacuation of civilians and officers from hazardous areas. With advanced features that include ballistic protection, all-terrain mobility, and specialized equipment, the vehicle is equipped to support a wide array of law enforcement missions. The BearCat is based on a Ford F-550 Super Duty commercial truck chassis with two available engines (the V10 Triton Gasoline and the 6.7L Turbo Diesel). The BearCat featured .50 BMG-rated bulletproof glass capable of surviving multiple hits, and blast-resistant flooring.
