KAUFMAN, Texas — A large snake is possibly the cause of a power outage between Kaufman and Canton on Thursday night, according to Trinity Valley Electric Co-Op (TVEC).
The outage is in the Cedarvale area along State Highway (SH) 243 and Farm-to-Market (FM) 47 at the Kaufman-Van Zandt County line.
TVEC says 537 meters are affected by the outage and crews are working to determine if there are any additional problems. Of those meters, 255 are in Kaufman County, 274 are in Van Zandt County, and eight are in Henderson County.
