“I am honored to begin this new term and continue serving the people of East Texas,” said Congressman Gooden. “Together with President Trump, I am committed to securing our borders, revitalizing American jobs, enhancing our national defense, and dismantling what I see as a weaponized government under Biden. The residents of East Texas deserve a strong, America First voice in Washington, and I pledge to deliver meaningful results that enhance our lives and preserve our future.”

Committees and Key Roles

In the 119th Congress, Rep. Gooden has been appointed to serve on the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Armed Services. His role on the Judiciary Committee places him at the forefront of critical policymaking efforts, including U.S. innovation, intellectual property protection, advancements in artificial intelligence, and addressing strategic competition with China. He is a member of both the Administrative State and Regulatory Reform Subcommittee, as well as the Courts and Intellectual Property Subcommittee.

On the Armed Services Committee, Congressman Gooden's contributions are vital, particularly as Texas houses 15 active military bases and boasts a strong aerospace and defense workforce. As Rep. Gooden embarks on this new term, he remains steadfast in his commitment to advocating for the interests and concerns of his constituents in Garland, Mesquite, Forney, Terrell, and throughout the 5th District.
